A family run independent garage established in 1979. Originally founded by Derek Gingell, it is now run by his two sons, Stephen and Tony.

Carpenters Garage, was previously Carpenters Removals, founded on this site in 1880. Derek Gingell took over the business in 1972 and sold the removals side of the business in 1979, setting up Carpenters Garage in the same year. Derek, along with his wife Daphne, was joined by their eldest son Steve when the garage was formed, and by their youngest son, Tony in 1981.

 
The Garage was authorised to carry out class 4 MOT testing in 1981.

 
We also employ three other mechanics Brandon, (1992) Andrew, (1996) and Gary (2001) and the office staff consists of Tony and Steve’s wife Sarah.
